Cabin in the woods
always trapping mice
every night the ritual
traps with peanut butter
placed in the basement
check them in the morning
a good night
three traps two mice
I load the traps in the car
we are going for a ride
I take them to the astronomy park
far enough away
a permanent vacation from my home
I drop their two wriggling brown bodies
into the grass
it looks like
they are swimming through the tall green grass
tall if you are a mouse
they work their way through the grass
looking for a place to hide
I think they will be
waiting for dark
when they can stargaze
